Giclee prints of the painting, The Kal’ut Madonna.

The original painting is part of the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center’s permanent collection of contemporary Alaska Native art.

The image is inspired by the artist’s Alutiiq ancestors and family from the village of Karluk on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Karluk is the birthplace of her grandmother and mother. (Kal’ut is Karluk in Alutiiq). Alutiiq/Sugpiaq women processed salmon for their communities for over 7,000 years and later for Russians and in canneries for Americans.
